The 1995 Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg is fresh and effervescent on the nose with cranberry, cracked black pepper and light loamy aromas. Wonderful delineation. The palate is à point with finely sculpted tannins, a core of peppery black fruit and a sense of poise on the lengthy finish. It totally shades the Les Poyeux cuvée on this occasion. Excellent. Tasted at the Clos Rougeard retrospective at Noble Rot.
